| Pioneer kondigt vandaag de opvolger aan van de DDJ-SX, de DDJ-SX2. <persbericht> Deze controller combineert de bekende features van de DDJ-SX met enkele gewaardeerde features van de DDJ-SZ. De Pioneer DDJ-SX2 heeft nu ook multi kleuren Pads, veel minder latency in de jogs bij scratchen, Cue marker display in het jogwheel en hij is klaar voor de DVS upgrade van Serato. Voor Serato worden tegenwoordig uitbreidingspacks verkocht die features toevoegen aan de Serato software, dit gaat buiten Pioneer om en hiervoor moeten eindgebruikers bij Serato zijn. Inbegrepen is een voucher voor het nieuwste expansion pack : Serato Flip (t.w.v. 22,-). Deze toevoeging maakt het mogelijk om de volgorde van het indrukken van de Hot Cue/Loop buttons op te nemen en te blijven herhalen, in sync met de audio. De DDJ-SX2 is op dit moment de enige controller met speciale knoppen hiervoor. | Engels persbericht: 7th August 2014: Pioneer DJ is launching the DDJ-SX2, the industry’s first controller to give DJs native manipulation of the software’s latest upgrade, Serato Flip, unveiled this week. The four-channel DDJ-SX2 builds on the popularity of its predecessor, but inherits two must-have features from the top-flight DDJ-SZ: Performance Pads with multi-coloured cue point LEDs and on-jog digital cue point markers. Plus it’s Serato DJ DVS upgrade-ready and boasts improved jog wheel latency, making it the scratch DJ’s ultimate companion. Serato Flip is a paid Expansion Pack for Serato DJ that gives DJs the power to record and re-play hot cue sequences on the fly. The DDJ-SX2 is the only controller with designated buttons – Record, Start and Slot – to put intuitive Serato Flip performances at their fingertips. DDJ-SX2 owners can add Serato Flip to their software package at no extra cost; the controller comes bundled with a FREE Serato Flip expansion pack voucher worth EUR 22. The DDJ-SX2, with free Serato Flip expansion pack voucher, is available from October at an SRP of EUR 999, including 19% VAT. PLUS the first 10,000 units come bundled with a free voucher code for the Serato Video Expansion Pack worth around EUR 129. NEW FEATURES OF THE DDJ-SX2 1. EXCLUSIVE: designated buttons for intuitive control of Serato Flip Serato Flip lets DJs record hot cue combinations and replay them on loop. So they can record themselves triggering cues with the Performance Pads and automatically loop the sequence back on demand. The six slots let DJs store up to six sequences to be played back later. Three buttons cover all the functions of Serato Flip: Record (start/stop recording), Start (start/stop loop) and Slot (store). 2. NEW: Performance Pads with multi-coloured cue point LEDs DJs can instantly trigger Quantized Hot Cues, Roll, Slicer and Sampler, or hit Shift to save and activate Cue and Slicer Loops ¬– while Velocity Mode lets them control the sample volume with the amount of pressure they apply. The multi-coloured backlit LEDs give a visual reference to which modes are in play and will reflect cue points that DJs have preset in Serato DJ. 3. NEW: Enhanced jog wheels with digital cue point markers and countdown The DDJ-SX2 has improved low-latency jog wheels for perfect scratch response every time. In addition to the backlit-LED On-Jog display, which shows the playback status of tracks, this model gains illuminated cue point markers and an accurate countdown for even greater scratch and reverse precision. 4. NEW: Serato DJ DVS upgrade-ready and a variety of inputs and outputs Like its predecessor, the DDJ-SX2 has four inputs, so DJs can connect it to DJ players and/or turntables and use it as a four-channel stand-alone mixer. It’s Serato DJ DVS upgrade-ready, so DJs can buy a Serato DJ DVS Expansion Pack and scratch with CDJs/analogue turntables using Serato NoiseMap Control CD/vinyl. Two master outputs (XLR and RCA) and a booth output enable connections direct to professional PA equipment. And the two MIC inputs have been improved to eliminate distortion. | Het is natuurlijk leuk om weer een rijtje gadgets toegevoegd te krijgen. Maar maken die al die feature dingen je als dj nou echt beter? Ik denk wel eens: draaien is net zoiets al hoofdrekenen, de moderne jeugd kan het amper nog (zonder machines bedoel ik) En verder wat ik er van denk: na amper anderhalf jaar al een opvolger...dat vind ik niet echt vertrouwen wekkend voor te toekomst.. | |

| Mis ik nu iets of is er aan de featureset eigenlijk nauwelijks wat toegevoegd... Drie knopjes per deck, wat kleurenledjes en een timecode-input (m.a.w. een niet aan geluidskwaliteit gebonden geluidskaart)... Zijn een beetje Apple praktijken dit, DDJ-SX (iPhone 4) uitbrengen, publiek wat opwarmen, vervolgens na enige tijd de DDJ-SX2 (iPhone 4s) uitbrengen en harken maar (R&D kosten zijn eruit, mallen voor de behuizingen zijn al klaar)... EDIT: Moet wel eerlijk zeggen dat de kleurtjes me stiekem wel aantrekken  ... Wat zou een SX1 nog opbrengen? | |

| Een korte lifetime van dit soort producten is toch prima? Praktisch al deze apparaten worden voor eigen gebruik verkocht. Geen verhuurder of club die gedoe krijgt omdat hij "niet de SX2 heeft staan". En nieuwe features worden lekker snel verwerkt. Oke, de oude versie is wat minder waard. Maar hoe spannend is dat werkelijk op een apparaat van nog geen 1000 euro? Ik ben blij dat ze een product niet drastisch veranderen maar slechts updaten. Dan is de kans op fouten kleiner. Want verdomme het zal weer eens niet zo zijn dat Rekordbox 3 weer bugs bevat in basis functionaliteit. | |

| Ik heb een toekomst visioen: Er komt straks een nieuw apparaat geen standaard knopje meer te bekennen. Alleen een grote touchscreendisplay. Deze kan je naar lievenlust helemaal zelf indelen met alle features die je maar wil. OP de zijkant staat Pioneer, maar ook dit is een schermpje. Je kan er ook een ander merk op laten verschijnen. Aan de voorkant kan je kiezen uit een usb slot, sd slot, en ja ja je kan er zelfs een cd of een moderne harde schijf in schuiven. Upgraden is een fluitje van een cent, en je kan helemaal je eigen skin er voor maken. En nu komt het. Als klap op de vuurpijl krijg je er een enorme zak met gekleurde buttons, draaiknoppen en switches bij. Deze zijn in staat op de knoppen op een touchscreen te bedienen en de knoppen kan je op elke willekeurige plek op het scherm plaatsen dmv zelfklevende siliconen, welke 100den keren hergebruikt kunnen worden. Dan zijn we toch klaar meteen?  | |

| Tom, ik denk niet dat je veel kunt verdienen met je toekomstvisioenen aangezien ze tot nu toe redelijk open deuren zijn. In het verlengde van je toekomstvisioen komt er een opvolger van LED, rijden de auto's zelfstandig en kunnen we onze lichaamsfuncties met onze telefoon in de gaten houden | |
